THE MENDOCINO ART CENTER is an education, exhibition, and resource center for the visual and performing arts located 150 miles north of San Francisco in the quiet coastal village of Mendocino. Surrounded by the rugged landscapes of the North Coast, Mendocino village sits on a small headland alongside the bay and beaches of Big River, and is famous for its Victorian charm, art galleries, restaurants, shops, inns and artists, writers and musicians.
TEXTILE CLASSES AT THE ART CENTER are usually one week long in the summer, weekends in the Fall and Spring. The average cost is $75 members $95 non-members for a weekend, $180 members, $210 non-members for a week. With a strong offering in loom weaving (rugs, tapestry, beginning and intermediate floor loom, inlay, etc.), classes are also offered in a variety of other textile techniques including surface design (fabric printing and dyeing), quilting, stitchery, paper making, book making, and beading.
MAC's Textile Programs are coordinated by Lolli Jacobsen.
The Art Center also offers classes in Fine Arts (painting and drawing), ceramics, jewelry and metals, and other subjects. September to May Artist in Residence opportunities are available. Call or write for further information: Or click on logo below for a link to their homepage.
